Ministry of Defence: school visits are a ‘powerful tool for facilitating recruitment’

These words were quoted on the website of ForcesWatch, a a new network that challenges the ethics of military recruitment and questions the climate of uncritical national pride in the armed forces.

Earlier this month ForcesWatch organised a speaking tour of London, Coventry and Edinburgh by Oskar Castro, Director of the US organisation Military Families Speak Out. He spoke about addressing military involvement in public education in the U.S. and explained how the presence of the armed forces in U.K. schools and colleges can be challenged.

This tour launched the Military Out of Schools campaign.
