Trident Commission at Portcullis House: February 9th

The spring issue of UNA-UK’s New World reports that the Commission, created by the British-American Security Information Council [BASIC] will take place at Portcullis House, Westminster. 

The Commission will conduct research, host events and receive evidence throughout 2011, publishing a final report early in 2012. To this end it will bring together senior political, military, diplomatic, scientific and academic figures – including Sir Jeremy Greenstock, incoming chair of UNA-UK – to conduct the most rigorous and credible examination of UK nuclear weapons ever conducted outside government. 

It will be co-chaired by Lord Browne, former Labour Secretary of State for defence, Sir Malcolm Rifkind, Former Conservative defence and Foreign Secretary and Sir Menzies Campbell, former Shadow Liberal Democrat Foreign Secretary.
